Maternity photos are the best way to remember and document the beginning of your child’s life. Remember all the little moments and milestones leading up to the baby’s arrival. However, you may be wondering what to do with your maternity photos. How could you actually use these images? If you’re not sure if maternity photos are right for you, I encourage you to check out this post on why you should take maternity photos.
So, what should you do with your maternity photos?
Frame Prints of your Maternity Photos
First and most obviously, frame prints for your home. These photos may be documenting a significant change in your relationship. The last little bit of time that it’s just you and your significant other. Display these images proudly in your home!
Include Maternity Photos in your Baby Book
Begin your baby album with a few maternity session photos. Tell your baby’s story from the beginning showing just how much you cared for that little one before they entered the world. If you’re interested in this option, ask me about my membership options.
Create a Dedicated Album of your Maternity Photos
Maybe you have big siblings that are so excited to meet their baby or you have so many photos from your session you cannot narrow it down. Create one album dedicated to your maternity session. Having this album to reflect on your children’s excitement will be so fun to share with your baby later on.
Display Maternity Photos in the Nursery
This is an option I really love and choose for my daughter. I selected a frame with multiple photos and printed a few of my favorites. Once she was born, I updated a few with newborn and one-year portraits. I left a few maternity because I liked that she had photos of mom and dad watching over her too. Check out all her nursery details here.
Send Holiday Cards & Ornaments
Share the news with family in a beautiful printed holiday card. Grandma will love having a print to show off to all of her friends.
Love holiday traditions? Add a new ornament to your tree every year that documents a major milestone. Create a photo ornament that shows your baby bump!
Share to Social Media
Last but not least, share your maternity photos on social media to share the big news. If you’ve already made your announcement post, you can share a fun detail like the baby’s name or your nickname, how much progress you’ve made in baby prep, or how you and your partner are feeling lately!
There’s no wrong thing to do with your maternity photos. Whatever you chose to do with your images will be perfect for your family. Just please don’t let them sit in digital limbo!
