Pregnancy is such an amazing time for you and your partner. It’s a chance to work together to arrange the nursery and so much more. But most importantly, it’s a chance to reconnect and deepen your relationship. Once the baby arrives, you’ll be so grateful you made date nights a priority. So, I’ve put together 10 date night ideas in Canton, Ohio before baby arrives perfect for pregnant couples!
10 date night ideas in Canton Ohio:
1. Taggarts Ice Cream Parlor & Restaurant
Make a special trip back in time with the cutest little ice cream shop in downtown Canton. Taggart’s ice cream parlor has been around since 1926. If you like pecans, make sure to try their famous Bitner with vanilla ice cream, homemade chocolate syrup, and topped with roasted pecans. However, you can’t go wrong with any of their sweet treats. I’m sure they will have something that will appease your pregnancy cravings.
2. Stark Parks & Picnic
Make it a weekend day date and pick one of the many beautiful trails in Stark Parks. Go for a little hike or just enjoy the sunshine and scenery (weather permitting). Make it extra special and pack a picnic to enjoy together.
3. Escape Room
Visit Escape Room Downtown and test your problem-solving skills. What better way to prepare to be parents? Those first few months you both will have to tap into these skills while learning what each new cry means. However, escape rooms are more fun and carefree and make for a memorable date!
4. Canton Food Tour
What way to make a pregnant woman happier than food?! Schedule a walking tour with Canton Food Tours. It’s a great way to try a few local restaurants, support local businesses, and learn a little bit about Canton’s history.
5. Milestone — A Board Game Bar
Board game bars are such a fun experience and very cost-effective. Check out Milestones to have game night anytime with your significant other. Not only is this a fun date night, but it’s also a great way to test out couple games you can purchase for your home. Once you’re a parent and not completely exhausted all the time, you might want to have easy date night ideas up your sleeve that doesn’t require a babysitter.
6. Pro Football Hall of Fame
Canton is known for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, but have you ever visited it? There’s a ton of interesting history anyone would enjoy. Especially, your sports-loving partner! If you have already made the visit in the past, it’s definitely worth going back with all the changes they’ve made in the last couple of years.
7. Dinner & Movie
This sounds like such a simple idea but it’s not as easy to get out after the baby comes. It’s probably been a while since you’ve been to the movie theater anyway because we have so many options constantly at our fingertips. Enjoy the big screen and movie theater popcorn then head to dinner to discuss your favorite moments in the film and get lost in conversation. With so many great restaurant options from downtown Canton to Belden Village, you’re bound to have a delicious dinner too!
8. Thrift Trip
This is one of my favorite ideas! You’ll be amazed at the amazing baby items you can find in like-new condition at your local Goodwill. I’ve found multiple great finds with my favorite being a solid wood storage bench that I painted a pretty white for my daughter’s room. I always leave feeling great about the money I saved, the positive environmental impact, and that I helped support people in my community.
9. Weekend Getaway at Gervasi
I highly recommend a little babymoon for you and your significant other! But, I understand if you don’t want to spend hours in a car or at the airport (Hello, pregnancy!). Instead, Enjoy a luxury Tuscan getaway at the Gervasi. The Villas are absolutely beautiful! I can vouch for them because my husband and I had our reception there and stayed in the Villas – and I’ve been itching to go back!
10. Comedy Show
This one requires a little driving but it’s worth it for the laughs! If you enjoy stand-up comedy, you have to check out the Funny Stop Comedy Club. Every time I’ve gone, I’ve had a great time. Plus, it’s a chance to take everything off your mind and just get in some good laughs.
11. Maternity Portrait Session
Obviously, this one was a given so I’m adding it as a bonus. Although, what could allow you to connect more than a photo session dedicated to documenting your love and the excitement you’re feeling in this moment? Get your hair and make-up done and pick out a dress (or borrow one from the client closet) that makes you feel beautiful. And while you’re both all dolled up, head out for a dinner date night afterward. Not quite sure if maternity photos are right for you? Check out this post.
