Rosalie’s Oh Twodles Birthday Party
The Party Theme
I discovered the Oh Twodles Birthday Party theme on Pinterest, but I knew I didn’t want it to be traditional red, black, and white. Not sure if a 2-year-old can have a favorite color, but she definitely gravitates towards more purple things than anything else so I knew I wanted to incorporate purple. Then I found this pretty Oh Twodles banner on Etsy and loved the rose gold, and the colors came together from there.
The Backdrop
The weather in March is always such a gamble, we knew cleaning out the garage and being able to leave the garage doors open for fresh air would be the best option. To make the garage feel more fun, I wanted to create a larger backdrop for some pretty photos. I followed this tutorial on YouTube, using plastic table cloths in the theme color palate. Fun fact, a lot of table cloth colors are not available because of shipping issues. I had to source a color from Target, Party City, Walmart and Amazon.
This balloon arch matched the theme perfectly and I just had to add a pack of rose gold balloons to tie back to the banner. If you’ve never put together a balloon arch/column you’ll want to get one of these air pumps. This thing saved my life and I know we’ll use it again and again! Also, thank goodness my sister was able to come early to help me put the balloon column together or I would not have been done in time. If I ever do one of those again I will do it first thing in the morning, learning from that mistake.
The Cake
All Occasions Bakery created the beautiful cake, cupcakes, and cookies for the party. I sent them a couple of pictures of the Oh Twodles party theme and let them work their magic.
I’ve worked with them in the past for Rosalie’s baby shower and first birthday. As always, everyone raved about how delicious and pretty the desserts were. I found this little pack on Amazon to add a cake topper for the cake!
The Details
The invites were created in Canva and sent them via text instead of printing and mailing this time around. Also, I created a poster including some of Rosie’s favorite things. I did this for her first birthday and want to continue until she’s 5 and save them all for her graduation party! I also decided to create more work for myself at the last minute by making a large 2 photo collage. For party favors, I found these Mickey & Minnie ears on Amazon for her cousins and a few friends to wear at the party. And let’s be real, her aunts loved them as well. 🙂
