5 Favorite Photos from 2022 – Part 1

We’re officially halfway through 2022! And with that, I thought it would be fun to share 5 images from 2022 so far that I really love! Now, don’t get me wrong. I love all my clients and all the photos I send in my client galleries (or I wouldn’t send them to you!). However, these 5 images I am especially fond of and I’ll share a few personal and technical reasons these portraits made the list!

Here are my 5 favorite photos from 2022 so far…

Showell Family

Where to start? There are so many things I love about this session. First, this perfect, even light, the tall grass, the coordination of their outfits. Secondly, I’ve noticed that I prefer more close and personal family portraits. I’ve made it a goal for this year, to include both close and wide shots to capture the environment as well. But mostly, this beautiful family and the love that so clearly radiates from them. View more from the Showell Family Session.

Mozden Maternity

This is one of my favorite maternity photos. First of all, the pretty spring florals right behind Morgan, represent the growth and new life of spring and pregnancy. Her serene expression as she looks toward her bump allows the viewer to also feel the emotions that come with the season of maternity. Lastly, the pastel, soft colors from the white florals to her pretty baby blue dress look perfect in the soft glow of the morning light. View more from the Mozden Maternity Session.

Morton In-Home Newborn

In-home sessions are so intimate and personal to your family. I love the story they can tell. Most importantly, clients are always so much more comfortable in these types of sessions. I love this photo because of the beautiful architecture of the staircase in this vintage home in downtown Canton. I love how this photo shows how much love and joy Michelle and Ryan have for baby Jack. In addition, it represents the beauty of bringing a new baby home. From a photographer perspective, this photo follows the rule of thrids drawing the eye to the most important part of the photo, the Morton Family. View more from Jack’s Newborn Session.

Ella’s First Birthday Milestone

To start, I love the simplicity of this photo. The clean white background enhances the brilliance of her beautiful blue eyes. The color of her hair, bow, cream blanket, and her gold dress are so pretty together. Most of all, I love her soft smile and curious expression, showing a glimpse of her personality and the curiosity one-year-olds have for the world. View more from Ella’s One-Year Session.

Anne & Lillian Motherhood

Again, I love how natural and comfortable mama and Lillian are together in their home. Together, we planned this session and discussed ways to incorporate their favorite things, one of which was books. Anne is an avid reader and has shared this love with her daughter. I’ve known Anne since kindergarten and it was so special to see this session come to life. To me, this image is a little glimpse into this new chapter of Motherhood for Anne. View more from this Motherhood Session
