There are many beautiful styles of newborn photography, but maybe you haven’t heard of the unposed or baby-led technique. This minimal, natural, and timeless approach is why you should choose unposed newborn photography.
What is unposed or baby-led newborn photography?
Baby-led posing is an approach that aims to capture your baby’s natural movement. During the session, your baby is safely positioned to allow them to wiggle, stretch and move in a way most natural to them.
Minimal Styled Setup
We will keep the setup very simple and clean with a white swaddle and backdrop. Typically, we keep the props to a minimum, I supply swaddles and bows, to keep the focus on the little details of your baby. Don’t worry if there is something you would like to include unique to your baby’s story, we can absolutely incorporate special items.
Natural Newborn Posing
You may be familiar with the terms froggy pose or potato pose, I will not put your babies in these poses. Throughout the process, I will guide the baby to positions that are natural and allow them to move into what is most comfortable to them. Your baby will lead the show with guidance along the way from me.
At one of my newborn sessions, I’ll never forget my client saying, “he always sleeps with one arm over his head like that” and she giggled, my heart melted. I knew they would remember that little quirk forever with beautiful imagery to document it.
Timeless Newborn Photography
With the background and props minimal and the posing natural helps maintain a timeless feel for your photos. No one will ever ask you about that trend of the time. When your little on has grown, they will share their photos with friends and family with pride.
